What exact activity, role or purpose qualifies?

This is provisional residence granted to a foreigner carrying out one of three distinct activities: humanitarian activities, religious activities, or volunteer activities in the Republic of Moldova.

What organisation, institution, religious body, charity, teacher or host must support the activity?

For humanitarian or volunteer activities, a request from a public association is required; for religious activities, a request from the religious denomination is required. Each request is filed with the Standard Application Form.

What proves the placement, role, affiliation, experience or cultural/religious/voluntary activity?

For humanitarian and volunteer activities, the proof includes the organisation's registration certificate and an extract from the Register of non-commercial organisations; for religious activities, the registration certificate and an extract from the Register of religious denominations and their component parts. The activity is proven by a cooperation contract (humanitarian, religious) or a volunteering contract (volunteer) and, on extension, by the organisation's annual activity report.

Can the person receive salary, pocket money, accommodation, meals or reimbursement? Can they undertake other work?

The applicant must prove means of subsistence and treatment corresponding to the residence category applied for; the official pages do not themselves state whether a salary, stipend or reimbursement may be received or whether other paid work is permitted.

How long can they stay, can they change host/activity, can family accompany, and can the status be extended?

The provisional stay can be extended, with separate extension document lists for each type of activity. Documents must be submitted at least 30 days before the authorised end of stay (EU citizens: at least 15 days), and missing the deadline is subject to administrative penalties. The official source does not state the length of the permit, whether the host or activity can be changed, or whether family can accompany.
