Which types of income/assets are accepted according to the official source?

Savings or investments, shown in original bank statements, and income through employment or pension count. Applicants proving solvency through employment must provide a letter signed by a supervisor, addressed to the Consulate General on company letterhead, stating their full name, position and seniority within the company, and monthly salary.

Can the holder work locally, run a business or perform other economic activity? What is the family position?

The temporary-residence visa allows the foreigner to work in Mexico provided the salary is paid abroad; with a job offer in Mexico and salary paid in Mexico, the employer must obtain INM authorisation for the visa. For employment-based solvency, the employer letter must explicitly agree with the applicant's plans to reside in Mexico and work remotely.
