Applicants present a valid passport, personal identification document or identity and travel document. Minors need a birth certificate issued no more than six months earlier and permission from their parents or legal guardian granted before a notary public or justice of the peace. Foreign nationals residing in Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador or Honduras must present the document proving permanent residence.
