Besides the qualifying period, transfers (by instalments or otherwise) aggregating at least USD 200,000 or equivalent for a consecutive period of 5 years immediately preceding the application are required. Application is made to the Minister; the permit is issued on payment of the prescribed fee and on conditions, and is valid for 20 years from issue. The official source does not state renewal after the validity period or specific retention and loss rules.
