For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

A Single Entry Visa is for a foreign national whose nationality and travel purpose require a visa for the intended journey. Eligible applicants use the official MYVISA system. The FAQ contains nationality-specific exemptions, so this is not a universal requirement for all visitors.

The general visa-type page describes one entry and normal validity of three months from issue. MYVISA specifies three months for Fly & Cruise and Wedding Tourism eVISA Notes, but six months for Medical and Business Visitor notes. These are entry-document validity periods, not permitted stays: the SEV stay depends on nationality and the granted entry permission.
