Is this aimed at retirees, pensioners, financially independent people, passive-income holders or another profile?

Sabah Platinum accepts applicants aged twenty-five or above from countries with diplomatic relations with Malaysia, excluding Israel, Nigeria and Bangladesh. It is a financially based programme for residence in Sabah, not a general permission to reside elsewhere in Malaysia.

Funds must be placed in a fixed deposit at a Sabah-MM2H panel bank in Sabah. Up to half may be withdrawn after one year for residence purchase, education or medical purposes in Malaysia. This tier page does not state a monthly-income requirement.
