Post-10-Years is a fresh RP-T application for an existing holder approaching the end of the original ten-year approval. The applicant needs three consecutive years of Malaysian work, at least five years total experience, a recognised degree, diploma or professional qualification and a valid current pass. Minimum criteria do not guarantee panel approval.

To be considered for the RP-T POST-10-YEARS, applicants have to first fulfil the following criteria: Has worked in Malaysia for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years at the time of application. Holds a valid RP-T pass in the current passport. Earns a basic monthly salary of RM15,000 which excludes any allowances and/or bonuses. Tax requirement must follow the current website (5 years) ‘The applicant must earn a basic monthly salary of at least RM15,000 (excluding allowances and bonuses) and hold a valid Malaysian income tax file number. Proof of income tax paid for the most recent five (5) years is required. The declared annual basic salary must align with the minimum monthly income threshold.' Holds a PhD/Master's/Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in any discipline from a recognised university or a professional/competency certificate from a recognised professional institute. Possesses at least 5 years of total work experience. * Above are the MINIMUM criteria required for RP-T POST-10-YEARS approval. What is RP-T Post-10-Years? Is it a renewal of my existing RP-T approval? RP-T holders who wish to continue under the RP-T once their initial approval expires in the tenth year can consider applying for the RP-T Post-10-Years. Please note that all applicants of the RP-T Post-10-Years must meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Who is eligible to apply for the Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T) Post 10 -Years application? Applicants approaching the tenth-year expiry date of their current RP-T pass may apply for the RP-T Post 10-Years. When can I apply for the application? Applications for RP-T Post 10 – Years are to be submitted 6 months before the expiry date of the pass. Failure to submit the application after one (1) month of the RP-T expiry date will require the applicant to obtain an overstay clearance from the Enforcement Unit at the Immigration Department, Putrajaya. Where can I find my RP-T pass expiry date? The pass expiry date can be found on the pass in your passport. However, you may also find the information by logging into your account via the RP-T website at https://rpt.talentcorp.com.my. Will my family be eligible for the Post 10 – Years application as well? Yes, immediate family members (spouses and children below 18 years old) of applicants are also eligible. I have a new family member (newly married/having a new-born). How should I update the system? Applicants may proceed with their Post 10 – Years application first. Can they be included under my Post 10 – Years application? Yes, Dependents aged between 18 – 24 years old can be included under the application. They are eligible for the social visit pass as long as they are unmarried, unemployed, and not studying in Malaysia and are still under the Principal’s financial support. I am almost finished with my first 10 years of RP-T, and my pass is expiring in 6 months. Is it possible to submit both renewal and Post-10-year applications at the same time, if I want to fully utilize my 10 years of approval? You are not allowed to submit two applications at the same time. Once your Post-10 Year application is approved, the remaining balance of your existing pass will be forfeited. Any requests to carry forward the remaining balance of your previous pass will not be accepted. I am self-employed, who can be the signatory person for my no objection letter? If you are the sole person in the company and there is no employee, other Director, or shareholder, you can sign the No Objection letter. My application was unsuccessful recently, can I appeal? Please be informed that In line with the official notice of instruction by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), please be advised that we will no longer accept requests for appeals for unsuccessful RP-T applications with effect from 1 June 2023. For expat who wish to continue working and living in Malaysia must ensure that they do so on a valid pass. Since I can no longer appeal for my unsuccessful application, how soon can I re-apply? The cooling off period for new submission is 1 year. Thus, you can only re-apply one year after your application was unsuccessful.
