What medical treatment/purpose does the route cover and which applicant role does it address: patient, donor or another medical purpose?

The medical eVISA addresses a patient seeking treatment at a hospital that is a member of the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council. It is an entry-visa process, not the separate long-term medical Social Visit Pass. The official FAQ does not identify a distinct donor entitlement.

What acceptance, appointment, referral, treatment plan or healthcare-provider documentation is important?

The applicant must obtain an appointment letter from an MHTC member hospital before applying. The medical-entry checklist requires that appointment letter, the medical eVISA Note and eVAL printout, and passport biodata with at least six months validity for the patient and companions. The general upload checklist also names a referral or appointment confirmation from a registered Malaysian medical centre.

How must treatment costs, living costs and insurance be demonstrated?

The FAQ does not set a treatment-cost deposit, a medical-specific living-cost minimum or a medical-insurance minimum. It separately requires accommodation evidence. The visa-processing charge is RM105, plus a nationality-based visa fee and a payment-method convenience charge; these are application charges, not proof that treatment has been funded.

Complete companion information is required, and the patient and companions must present the stated passport, medical eVISA/eVAL and hospital appointment documentation. How long can the patient stay, what happens if treatment continues longer, and what official extension or follow-up mechanism exists?

A Medical Visitor eVISA Note is valid for six months from issue; that is not permission to remain for six months. The FAQ says SEV stays depend on nationality and MEV entries allow 30 days, without specifying the medical applicant's pass endorsement. Where the patient holds a Short-Term Social Visit Pass, Immigration may consider an extension for illness, supported by evidence and an in-person application; it is not automatic.
