Can the person receive salary, pocket money, accommodation, meals or reimbursement? Can they undertake other work?

Answer not available

How long can they stay, can they change host/activity, can family accompany, and can the status be extended?

Permits are issued for 2 years (or the shorter period of the activities) and can be renewed each time for the same period. A change of activities requires a new temporary residence permit. Family members follow the general family reunification requirements. After five years of continuous legal residence, permanent resident status can be obtained (language and Constitution test).
