What maximum stay, rolling-period rule, validity and entry rules apply?

The 2020 immigration manual says a non-employed Business Visitor may receive a visitor visa for up to one month if intending no more than four months in any twelve-month period. Its listed sales, buying, consultation and representative activities are separately capped at four months in a calendar year, with a work visa required for longer stays or other business visitors. The current Immigration Division portal's general Visitor Visa entry states up to three months for tourism or family/friend visits; it does not explain the distinct Business Visitor category's current duration. Entry count and renewal are unestablished.

Where/how is permission obtained when required, and under what important circumstances can a stay be extended or changed?

The certified Version 1 Immigration Procedures manual describes a Business Visitor Visa for its listed business activities, with an initial visitor visa of up to one month and an overall limit of four months in any 12-month period. The current Immigration Division page describes its general Visitor Visa as for tourism or visiting family and friends and says travellers going to Kiribati for work must apply for a Work Visa before travel. That general page does not state whether the manual’s separate Business Visitor category remains available or how its specific activities are classified. The one-month and four-month limits are therefore documented manual rules, not confirmed current business-visitor allowances.

Limits of the record
  • Current availability and application procedure for the separate Business Visitor Visa are not established by the general Visitor Visa page. The manual’s listed business activities must not automatically be classified as employment, and the general Visitor Visa duration must not automatically replace the special Business Visitor limits.
