The short-stay visa allows a stay not exceeding 90 days in a period of 180 days from first entry. After entry for religious reasons, the residence-permit application is sent from enabled post offices (Sportello Amico) with the kit; the Questura then notifies delivery of the permit. The official source does not state whether the holder may change host or activity, whether family may accompany, or whether the stay can be extended.

    Per gli ingressi avvenuti per finalità di Motivi Religiosi , in virtù della convenzione stipulata tra il Ministero dell'Interno e Poste Italiane SPA, le istanze di rilascio di permesso di soggiorno dovranno essere presentate dall'interessato spedendo la richiesta di permesso presso gli Uffici Postali abilitati Sportello Amico) , utilizzando appositi kit disponibili presso gli stessi uffici postali, i Patronati ed i Comuni abilitati (vedi voce "Ricerca strutture"). L’Ufficio Postale al momento della spedizione rilascia una ricevuta recante due codici identificativi personali (userid e password) tramite i quali il richiedente potrà conoscere, collegandosi al Portale Immigrazione , lo stato della pratica, l’ufficio postale provvede altresì a comunicare all'interessato la data dell'appuntamento per procedere ai rilievi foto-dattiloscopici. La Questura provvederà, successivamente, ad informare l'interessato per la consegna del permesso di soggiorno.
