What happens after the request: registration, family handling, major support and rights where officially stated?

Unaccompanied minors are placed in a dedicated centre for minors; only if none is available and the minor is at least sixteen may they be hosted for up to 150 days in a minors' section of an adult facility. A judge appoints a guardian ('tutore') who supports the minor, including in the protection procedure, and a minor with family legally resident in another EU state may ask to join them.
