What records are central to proving the lineage or historical connection?

The central records are the child's foreign passport; the applying parent's Israeli passport or ID (if available); original adoption documents confirmed by the Jewish Agency; the child's original authenticated birth certificate; and the court decision approving the adoption, including the hearing protocol; foreign official documents must be authenticated (apostille for Hague Convention countries) and translated to Hebrew and notarised if not in Hebrew, English or Arabic.
