What organisation, institution, religious body, charity, teacher or host must support the activity?

The inviting body must be one of: an organisation engaged in welfare or health; a religious institute; a kibbutz; a cooperative settlement (moshav); a philanthropic institute; or the IDF. The inviting body must give a letter of commitment that it is responsible for the volunteer's departure from Israel at the end of the permit period.

What proves the placement, role, affiliation, experience or cultural/religious/voluntary activity?

Required: passport valid 6 months beyond the intended stay; letter of commitment from the inviting body; a doctor's medical report that the volunteer is healthy; a commitment that the volunteer will have health insurance; an original police certificate of good standing from the country of origin, notarially translated into Hebrew (unless in Arabic or English) and authenticated (apostille where applicable); if more than 5 volunteers are invited together, a list with each volunteer's details and a letter of invitation from the inviting body for each invited volunteer.

How long can they stay, can they change host/activity, can family accompany, and can the status be extended?

The inviting organisation uses the same service to extend the volunteer's stay permit; the application is submitted in person, with the required documents, at the local Population and Information office or the local Israeli mission.
