The principal must be clergy holding a valid A/3 clergy visa and a valid residence permit; the A/2 or A/3 holder must attend in person with the family member.

What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

An original birth certificate and authenticated, translated official documents showing the applicant's current and prior personal status and the relationship to the person being visited (translated by a notary to Hebrew unless in Arabic or English; apostille where the issuing country is a Hague Convention member).

How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

Apply in person (one application per individual passport) at a Population and Immigration Authority office or Israeli mission; fee NIS 195. An A/4 sticker is issued whose validity follows the residence permit of the A/2 or A/3 relative; the gov.il page states a maximum validity of one year including an entry permit. A further conditional work rule in the A/4 procedure applies where the applicant accompanies a person eligible under the Law of Return: the applicant may request work permission, which the bureau manager should approve unless there is a material obstacle; the permission is not automatic for every A/4 holder.

Limits of the record
  • Other activity rights and any route to independent or longer-term status are not established by these captures.
  • The gov.il service page says the permit granted is 'type A/2' while procedure 5.10.0001 issues an A/4 sticker.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
