What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?
A marriage or civil partnership certificate; the marriage or civil partnership must be capable of recognition under Irish law. If the sponsor lives in Ireland and the couple has not lived together since marrying, a full account of the relationship history is needed, evidenced by e.g. visas, entry/exit stamps, photographs and correspondence. The relationship must include a number of face-to-face meetings (excluding webcam); a relationship developed solely over the internet or by telephone/SMS is not sufficient.
