What maximum stay, rolling-period rule, validity and entry rules apply?

Guidance differs between Iranian missions. The Embassy in Stockholm states that a visa with 90 days' validity gives the applicant 90 days to enter Iran and stay for the period of stay written on the visa; the maximum stay is 90 days for a single-entry visa and 30 days after each entry for a double-entry visa. The Embassy in Canberra announced that from 30 April 2025 the validity of single-entry visas it issues changes from 90 days to 45 days, so holders can enter Iran up to 45 days after the date of visa issuance, and that the duration of stay is up to 30 days depending on the type of visa issued. The official sources do not state a rolling-period rule.
