What exact status does accumulated residence lead to?

The Transitional Stay Permit (Izin Tinggal Peralihan, 'Bridging Visa') is a bridge between a previous stay permit and a new one; it can be used by foreign nationals applying to convert to a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS).

Limits of the record
  • It is a temporary bridging permit, not a status reached through accumulated residence.

What qualifying residence period is required and when does the period begin?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the qualifying residence period and when it begins.

Limits of the record
  • Searched the press release (346070fc5769815e.txt): it gives only the permit's own 60-day validity (used in r5), not a qualifying residence period.

Which types of residence count fully, partially or not at all where the official rules specify this?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm which types of residence count towards the qualifying period.

Limits of the record
  • The only related text (ITK via e-visa and non-extendable ITAS/ITAP holders can get a new permit without leaving) describes how the status is obtained and is used in r5; nothing on residence counting.

What absence/continuity rules affect accumulation of the qualifying residence period?

The transitional stay permit stops being valid if the foreign national leaves Indonesia.

Limits of the record
  • The source is a press release, not the regulation (Permenkumham 11/2024).
  • It does not say how the permit interacts with any accumulated residence period.

What other major conditions apply, how is the status obtained, and what renewal, document-validity, retention or loss rules matter?

Governed by Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 11 of 2024 (enacted 1 April 2024). Visit Stay Permit holders who applied via evisa.imigrasi.go.id can obtain a Limited Stay Permit, and ITAS/ITAP holders who can no longer extend can obtain a new permit, without leaving Indonesia. The permit is valid 60 days, onshore only, and lapses if the holder leaves Indonesia. The application is made via evisa.imigrasi.go.id with fees paid at least 3 days before the previous permit expires; no overstay applies if approval comes after the previous permit expires.
