The central records for proving the lineage are: akta kelahiran (birth certificate); and proof showing the family relationship with the former Indonesian citizen, which may be a kartu keluarga (family card), a marriage book or marriage certificate issued by an authorised ministry or institution, or another document that proves and explains the family relationship with the former Indonesian citizen.

What application progression, residence obligations, family consequences or further citizenship/residence possibilities follow?

The permit can be extended (total stay not more than 10 years) and transferred to another stay permit; the holder may bring family to live in Indonesia subject to immigration rules, may enter and leave while the permit is valid without a new visa, and must maintain the immigration-guarantee value committed at application while the permit is valid.
