Limits of the record
  • This official route-page capture supports only the stated point and does not establish every condition or current-law detail; independent review remains pending.

Who may sponsor or bring the family member, and what immigration/citizenship status must that person hold?

For E31H, the foreign parent joins a child holding a valid Indonesian ITAS, ITAP or limited-stay visa. A sponsor applies through an evisa.imigrasi.go.id account. The application asks for a sponsor guarantee or parent commitment, the child’s birth certificate and the child’s valid stay permit or visa. This visa cannot be used to join a Golden Visa holder as a family dependant.

Limits of the record
  • The E31H page identifies the child’s required status and a sponsor guarantee or parent commitment but does not clearly identify which person must act as the sponsor in each case.

What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

The applicant must provide the birth certificate translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator (unless in English), plus the child's valid Limited Stay Permit (ITAS), Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP) or Limited Stay Visa.

What important financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance responsibilities apply?

The applicant must show proof of living expenses for the stay in Indonesia: a bank statement for the last 3 months in the name of the foreign national or the sponsor, showing a minimum of USD 2,000 or the equivalent amount. The official source does not state accommodation, insurance or other maintenance responsibilities.

How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

The sponsor applies online through evisa.imigrasi.go.id; the Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) and Re-entry Permit are issued automatically when the holder is admitted at the immigration checkpoint. The holder may live and study in Indonesia, and may enter and leave Indonesia while the Re-entry Permit is valid. The stay is 1 or 2 years (applicant's choice) from arrival; the permit can be extended online and can be transferred to another stay permit. The official source does not state a path to status independent of the sponsor.

Limits of the record
  • The page says the permit can be transferred to 'another stay permit' but does not name which one (e.g. ITAP) or the conditions for it.
  • The page does not say whether or how the family member can obtain a status independent of the sponsor.
