What sponsor, authority, nomination, certification, evidence or other step must occur before the status can be obtained?
For foreign officials assigned in India and their dependent family members, visa applications (new issuance only as per bilateral agreements or for newborns, extension, conversion, transfer) are submitted online to the CPV Division of the Ministry of External Affairs via the e-FRRO portal, selecting the option for holders of Diplomatic, Official or Service passports; applicants should apply at least 3 weeks before their visa or visa-free period expires.
