What application progression, residence obligations, family consequences or further citizenship/residence possibilities follow?

Under Hong Kong's Admission Scheme for the Second Generation of Chinese Hong Kong Permanent Residents, an entrant is normally granted an initial 24-month stay. An extension application is made within the three months before expiry. For the normal extension, the applicant must have a degree-level employment offer at market remuneration, or provide proof of an established or joined business; approved extensions normally follow a 3+3-year pattern. A qualifying entrant who has remained under the Scheme for at least two years and had assessable salaries-tax income of at least HK$2 million in the previous assessment year may apply under the top-tier employment stream; successful applicants are normally granted six years. The scheme page also says a person ordinarily resident in Hong Kong continuously for at least seven years may apply for right of abode under the law. This residence status is an application pathway, not an automatic award.
