Which non-member-country family members can accompany or join, and what broad rights do they receive?

A CARICOM national who has exercised the right of free movement of skills has the right for their spouse and immediate dependent family members to move with or join them in Guyana, and to leave and re-enter Guyana without seeking further permission, according to the CARICOM Secretariat's CSME Free Movement, Travel and Work guide (3rd Edition). The spouse specifically has the right to work in Guyana without needing to obtain a separate work permit.

Limits of the record
  • This is a regional CSME treaty rule stated in the CARICOM Secretariat's own implementation guide, not a statement published on Guyana's own MFA/CSME page for this route.
  • The guide states that spouses and immediate dependent family members may move with or join the principal mover, and that spouses specifically have the work right; it does not state that other dependants (e.g. adult children) have an independent right to work.

When do permanent/long-term rights arise and what continuity, absence or retention conditions matter?

The Ministry states that the certificate has no expiration date. The official source does not state a separate permanent-residence or citizenship progression for the certificate itself.
