What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

The official source does not list specific proof documents for siblings; the card is refused or revoked where the family relationship (including adoption or recognition of children) was concluded mainly to obtain the card.

What important financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance responsibilities apply?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance requirements.

How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

The original Migration Code article 93(2) grants an O.3 residence card to minor siblings of a minor Greek national and states a five-year residence right for siblings of a Greek national under 21. It provides a five-year card, including where its expiry is after the sibling turns 21, and one further five-year renewal if the card expires before age 21 before the five-year period is complete. Law 5275/2026 changes article 93(9): where paragraph 7 conditions are met, the residence card converts automatically on expiry into an M.3 permanent residence card.

Limits of the record
  • The original article 93(2) still contains an M.2 reference, while the 2026 amendment expressly changes article 93(9) to M.3. How these provisions interact for this sibling route is not fully resolved by the two captured texts.
  • Application mechanics and professional rights specific to this sibling route are not established in these cited provisions.
