What exactly is the official special programme/status and why does it exist?

What sponsor, authority, nomination, certification, evidence or other step must occur before the status can be obtained?

The competent body for the sector concerned may give an opinion. A third-country national who received an entry visa for one of the reasons of art. 163 is granted the corresponding residence permit.

What immigration status and rights result, how long do they last, can family be included, and what happens if the special qualifying circumstance ends?

The I.1 permit gives access to the labour market, is granted for up to 3 years and can be renewed for the same period. Family members may accompany the holder and receive, on application, an individual permit expiring together with the sponsor's. What happens if the public interest ceases is not stated.

    Η ανωτέρω άδεια διαμονής (άδεια διαμονής τύπου «Ι.1») παρέχει στον πολίτη τρίτης χώρας δικαίωμα πρόσβασης στην αγορά εργασίας. Η άδεια διαμονής χορηγείται για χρονικό διάστημα έως τριών (3) ετών και μπορεί να ανανεώνεται για ισόχρονο διάστημα. Οι παραπάνω πολίτες τρίτης χώρας μπορούν να συνοδεύονται και από τα μέλη της οικογένειάς τους, στα οποία χορηγείται, ύστερα από αίτησή τους, ατομι- 4201 κή άδεια διαμονής, που λήγει ταυτόχρονα με την άδεια διαμονής του συντηρούντος.
