Which exceptional-talent, academic, scientific, artistic, technological, cultural or other profiles does the pathway target?

Researchers who will carry out part of their research at a research organisation in Greece for more than 180 days under long-term mobility, applying for a residence permit under Article 110.

Is an employer, nominator, recognised body, peer group or government endorsement required?

Yes. A new hosting agreement with the research organisation in Greece is required for carrying out the research in the country.

Can the holder change employer, work independently, establish a business or conduct other professional activity? What is the family position?

During mobility researchers may teach in addition to research, and while the long-term mobility application is pending they may already carry out part of their research at the Greek organisation within the time limits. Family members receive family-reunification permits expiring with the researcher's permit. The official source does not state whether the holder may change host organisation, work independently or set up a business.

What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

The researcher permit runs for the length of the hosting agreement and is renewed under the general researcher renewal rule (Article 111). No settlement route specific to mobile researchers is stated.
