What exactly is this: asylum, temporary protection, humanitarian admission, resettlement or another protection mechanism?

A humanitarian residence route linked to domestic or forced-marriage violence: a holder of the card provided by L425-6/L425-7 who filed a complaint for violence by a spouse, concubin or PACS partner, or for violence linked to refusing or being forced into a marriage or union, receives a ten-year resident card once the person accused is definitively convicted; the refusal of that card cannot be based on the end of shared life with the perpetrator.

Limits of the record
  • The protection-order trigger and the one-year 'vie privée et familiale' card (L425-6 and L425-7) are cited in this route's coverage and renewal answers, not in this one.

Which population, circumstances or geographic group does the mechanism cover?

Covers foreign nationals who hold a civil protection order under Civil Code Art. 515-9 (violence within a couple, by a spouse, PACS partner, cohabitant, or a former such person) or Art. 515-13 (threat of a forced marriage).

Where can protection be requested, and is this a direct application, border/in-country request, referral or other process?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm where and how protection is requested.

Limits of the record
  • Searched L425-6 to L425-8 (PF CESEDA and te-ture extracts), R425 provisions and the High Commission pages. L425-6/L425-7 text is already cited in this route's coverage and renewal answers (not reusable); the captured sources do not describe where the civil protection order is obtained; the High Commission filing instruction is used in this route's official-help answer.

What happens after the request: registration, family handling, major support and rights where officially stated?

The card is renewed automatically as of right while the protection order remains in force, and continues to be renewed automatically for the duration of any related criminal proceedings even after the protection order itself has expired. The official source does not state registration, family handling, support or rights during the process.

Which competent authority, UN body or official assistance channel should the person use?

Residence-title requests in French Polynesia are made to the High Commission services no later than two months after arrival (or before the long-stay visa expires), even when holding a long-stay visa that counts as a residence title.

Limits of the record
  • The captured sources do not name the court or a victim-assistance service for obtaining the protection order.
  • The High Commission page gives the general filing rule, not a provision specific to this card.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
