If the file filed at the prefecture is complete, a receipt is issued pending the decision. The private-and-family-life card authorises residence and work without the employer needing a work authorisation; the temporary card is valid for 1 year, and where a complaint has been filed against the perpetrator the card is renewed automatically for the duration of the criminal proceedings.
