What exactly is this: asylum, temporary protection, humanitarian admission, resettlement or another protection mechanism?
Equatorial Guinea is a party to the 1951 Refugee Convention, its 1967 Protocol and the 1969 OAU Convention on refugee problems in Africa, but UNHCR states the country has no specific domestic legal framework for determining refugee status or protecting refugees, so no domestic asylum mechanism currently exists in national law despite the international treaty commitments.

Equatorial Guinea is a party to 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol as well as the 1969 OAU Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in Africa. However, the country does not have a specific domestic legal framework for the determination of refugee status or the protection of refugees. As a result, there are no formal procedures for asylum seekers to apply for refugee status, and no established rights or entitlements for refugees.
