What investment option or options qualify?

This route (Form F-11) is for a non-Central-American foreign national who has formed a Salvadoran company and has subscribed and paid in, as a shareholder, no less than US$10,000 in that company, under article 109(13) of the Ley Especial de Migración y de Extranjería.

What official minimum amount, tier or threshold applies to each relevant option?

For non-Central Americans by origin, the minimum is a subscribed and paid-in shareholding of at least USD 10,000 in a Salvadoran company they incorporate. Separate government fees are USD 140 (up to one year) or USD 260 (up to two years).

How long must the investment be maintained and what continuing ownership, investment or physical-presence conditions are important?

The shareholding must be proven by the registered deed of incorporation showing the minimum subscription, or the share certificate. Temporary residents must spend at least 90 days a year in El Salvador. The official source does not state a minimum holding period for the shareholding.
