What other major conditions apply, how is the status obtained, and what renewal, document-validity, retention or loss rules matter?

Obtained by applying to DGM with a category-change request letter to the Director General, the current temporary residence card, the personal identity card (cédula, for verification and copy), a current Dominican criminal-record certificate with QR code, and proof of own economic solvency (bank letter for RD$150,000 with the last 3 months' movements, property title, investment or savings certificate), or a guarantee policy if solvency is insufficient. The RP-1 is described as a one-year extension of the residence permission. The official source does not state the retention or loss rules.
