Short-Stay Visa — Business Visit

You want to apply for a short term visa because you are going for a business visit in Denmark for up to 90 days.

If you wish to visit Denmark for a short period of time and you are a citizen of a country with a visa requirement, you must have a visa.

There must be an actual commercial relationship between your own company/organisation and the company/organisation in Denmark which you wish to visit.

The Danish company / organisation must be registered in the Central Business Register (CVR).

The relationship with the company/organisation in Denmark must have been established prior to your entering Denmark,

The purpose of your visit must be related to your line of business in your country of origin.

The company/organisation in Denmark must confirm your visit. If you do not include an invitation form or an invitation ID when submitting the application, the Immigration Service will normally send a questionnaire to the company/organisation in Denmark when processing your application. You may be granted a visa in the Schengen region for a maximum stay of 90 days in any 180-day period.

When you apply for a visa to Denmark, the visa authorities will determine the validity period of the visa and the number of entries based on your travel information and a set of fixed criteria.

A visa normally grants you the right to stay in the entire Schengen region.

If you remain in Denmark after your visa expires or if you attempt to use your visa stay to obtain permanent or long-term residency in Denmark, you can be given a penalty period of 3 or 5 years.

Your passport or other forms of valid travel document must be valid for three months past the visa expiration date. Your passport or travel document must have been issued within the past 10 years.

As a general rule, you must have at your disposal approx. DKK 350 per day. A smaller amount may be accepted if you are staying in a private home and your host will cover all costs. If you are staying at a hotel, the amount must be greater, approx. DKK 500 per day.

You must hold a travel insurance policy to cover possible expenses in connection with a return for health reasons or death, indispensable medical treatment or acute hospitalisation during your stay. The insurance policy must cover all Schengen countries, and the minimum policy coverage is € 30,000. The insurance policy must be valid for the same period as the visa.

Relevant documentation, such as documentation for the purpose of the visit and business branch (business license or registration certificate issued by authorities in the home country, previous trade in the same industry, etc.), proof that you have available accommodation, proof that you have sufficient means at your disposal to cover your living expenses as well as your travel home.

You can submit your application in your country of residence. However, You can submit it in another country if you are there legally and there is a valid reason for not submitting the application in your country of residence.

If you wish to visit multiple Schengen countries, you must submit your application at the diplomatic mission of the country in which you will be staying for most days, or in which the main purpose of your visit is.

Normally you have to pay a fee in order to submit an application. The visa fee is normally 90 euro and for children from the age of six years and below the age of 12 years 45 euro. Furthermore you have to pay a service fee to the outsourcing company (VAC).

When you submit your application, you will normally need to have your fingerprints recorded.
