Which citizenship, status or regional agreement creates the person's right to move/reside?

Citizens of Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden may enter and live in Denmark under the Nordic rules without a visa or residence permit.

Under which circumstances can the person reside: worker, self-employed, student, jobseeker, self-funded person or another recognised basis?

The right is based on Nordic citizenship. SIRI expressly permits Nordic citizens to live, study and work in Denmark without obtaining a residence permit.

What entry, registration or residence-document formalities remain?

There is no visa or residence-permit application for a qualifying Nordic citizen. Entry without a passport is allowed, but the person must be able to identify themselves when required; a driving licence or other official photo identification is sufficient for the examples given by SIRI.

  • Nordic Citizen Residence; captured character offset 234
As a Nordic citizen, you can enter Denmark without a passport. However, you must be able to identify yourself if required, e.g. if you are staying in a hotel, camping ground or the like. Your driver's license or other official photo ID is sufficient identification.

Which non-member-country family members can accompany or join, and what broad rights do they receive?

Nordic family members enter and reside under their own Nordic rights without applying for family reunification. Family members who are not Nordic citizens should apply under the EU residence rules; their position is not automatically the same as that of a Nordic citizen.

When do permanent/long-term rights arise and what continuity, absence or retention conditions matter?

Limits of the record
  • Searched the full Nordic citizens page (2b97122566c78030.txt, 1,764 chars). It only says Nordic citizens need no visa or residence permit (sentence already used for R1-R3) and how family members apply; nothing on permanent rights, continuity, absence or retention.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
