What income threshold applies, how must it be demonstrated, and how does family affect it where stated?

The applicant must show sufficient and stable monthly resources of at least EUR 3,500 after deduction of contributions and taxes, evidenced by proof of salary payment showing net income and detailed bank statements for the last 6 months proving a stable income from outside Cyprus. The amount increases by 20% for a spouse or partner and by 15% for each child. Where there is no proof of net income, the applicant must sign an affirmation certifying that net income is not below the required minimum.

Where must the employer, company or clients be located? Is local work restricted?

Employees must work for a company registered abroad, with the employer confirming the work does not concern activity or services to an employer registered in Cyprus; self-employed applicants must confirm their projects do not concern services to a client established in Cyprus. Local work is restricted: the applicant commits by affirmation that neither they nor their family members will provide work, services or projects in any way to an employer or clients established in Cyprus.

Can family accompany? How long is the status granted and can it be renewed?

Family members have a right of residence for the same period as the digital nomad, without the right to be employed or perform economic activity in Cyprus. The first temporary residence permit is valid for one year; on renewal it is issued for a maximum of two years. Renewal must be applied for at the Civil Registry and Migration Department in Nicosia at least one month before the permit expires, paying the corresponding fees.

What immigration-relevant tax/residence information is officially stated, and what longer-term residence direction exists?

If the holder resides in Cyprus for one or more periods that together exceed 183 days within the same tax year, they are considered a tax resident of Cyprus, provided they are not a tax resident of any other country. The official scheme materials do not state any progression from the Digital Nomad permit to long-term or permanent residence.
