The sequence is: review the application guide, submit an expression of interest, wait for an invitation to apply and, if invited, submit a complete application; if the application is approved, apply for a work permit and start the business in New Brunswick. After arrival the applicant reports their arrival within one month (NBBIS-004), may ask to update the business plan within three months of arrival (NBBIS-007, subject to approval), and reports the business opening within nine months (NBBIS-005). After six months of business operations under the Business Performance Agreement the applicant asks for a nomination (NBBIS-006), and then applies for permanent residence with the nomination certificate.
