For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

Temporary visitors must present, when passing the border or immigration post, a passport or other valid travel document bearing a Cameroon entry visa obtained from a Cameroonian diplomatic or consular representation abroad. Exceptionally, those coming from countries where Cameroon is not represented by a diplomatic or consular post may obtain a visa at the border police or immigration post of their place of disembarkation.

Limits of the record
  • The captured law gives no nationality matrix, no visa exemption and no general visa-on-arrival rule beyond that single exception.
  • The 1997 law is captured in its original text; the 2023 implementing decree makes visa applications exclusively online, and the captured texts do not state how the in-person consular wording and the online procedure now fit together.

Where/how is permission obtained when required, and under what important circumstances can a stay be extended or changed?
