For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

An advance visa is required, but it is obtained through one single application covering both Cambodia and Thailand rather than two separate visas.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • The CDC Handbook on Investing in Cambodia is explanatory investment-promotion material published by the Council for the Development of Cambodia, not the immigration law and not an MFAIC visa notice.
  • The entry gives no nationality scope at all: it does not say which nationalities may use the ACMECS visa, nor whether any nationality is exempt from it. No nationality matrix appears in any of the captures.
  • It does not name the issuing authority or the country where the single application is lodged.

What short-visit purposes does this route cover?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the visit purposes this route covers.

Limits of the record
  • Looked for a stated travel purpose for the ACMECS visa. The handbook's visa-types table introduces the list with 'depending on their travel purpose' but assigns no purpose to the ACMECS row, which contains only the single-application sentence and the validity line. The official e-Visa visa-type page (capturas/462ca42b9843c529.txt) lists only Visa T, E, A, B and C and does not mention ACMECS at all; the e-Visa news page does not mention it either. Deriving 'tourism' from the neighbouring Tourist Visa row would be inventing the purpose.

What maximum stay, rolling-period rule, validity and entry rules apply?

The handbook records the validity as 90 days, described as 60 days in Thailand plus 30 days in Cambodia.

Limits of the record
  • The CDC Handbook on Investing in Cambodia is explanatory investment-promotion material published by the Council for the Development of Cambodia, not the immigration law and not an MFAIC visa notice.
  • The line is headed 'Validity'. It does not say whether the 30 days is a maximum permitted stay in Cambodia or only the Cambodian portion of the visa's validity; the two are different things and the handbook does not distinguish them.
  • No number of entries and no rolling-period rule is stated for the ACMECS visa in any capture.

What important funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel or passport evidence may be required?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel and passport evidence.

Limits of the record
  • Searched all six captures for funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel or passport evidence attached to the ACMECS visa. The handbook's ACMECS row is two lines long and states none. The e-Visa visa-type page carries a 'Requirement' row for Visa T and Visa E only, and does not list ACMECS. The 1994 Law on Immigration does not mention ACMECS, which postdates it.

Where/how is permission obtained when required, and under what important circumstances can a stay be extended or changed?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm where to apply and when a stay can be extended or changed.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • Looked for where the ACMECS visa is applied for and whether the stay can be extended. The handbook's 'Online visa application' paragraph covers the e-Visa portal for a tourist visa only, and its 'Extension of Stay (EOS)' block sits inside the E-CLASS row, so neither describes ACMECS. The official e-Visa portal capture does not list ACMECS among its visa types, so it cannot be cited as the application channel for it.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
