For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

The Police Nationale page describes a visa as an express authorisation granted by a consulate outside Burkina Faso to a foreign person who applies for it, allowing that person to enter Burkina Faso and stay legally for the allotted period. A short-stay visa is obtained on request from the central immigration administration represented by the Migration Division, from land and air border police posts, or from Burkina Faso embassies or diplomatic representations abroad. At land borders, any foreigner who wants to enter may take only a seven-day visa; at Ouagadougou airport, visas of seven or twenty-one days may be issued on request to foreigners arriving by air. Law No. 001-2024/ALT of 22 February 2024 requires every foreigner entering Burkina Faso to present a valid travel document bearing a Burkinabè or community visa where applicable, or a visa agreement, or a residence permit, and leaves the conditions for visa exemptions to regulations. The official sources do not provide a full nationality matrix of who is exempt from the visa requirement.
