Does the pathway result in a visa, residence permit, right of return, citizenship or another status?

NVR is an endorsement in the foreign passport that allows multiple entries into Bangladesh with an unlimited duration of stay for the duration of that passport.

What application progression, residence obligations, family consequences or further citizenship/residence possibilities follow?

The 'No Visa Required' endorsement is an entry-and-stay facility, not a status with residence obligations: it 'will remain valid as long as the passport is valid' and is re-issued in a new foreign passport on payment of the fee. The Department of Immigration and Passports issues it in Bangladesh, and overstay fines for foreign citizens of Bangladeshi origin may be waived. Visa Policy-2026 states no residence obligation and no further step towards residence or citizenship for NVR holders.
