Explore the five recorded questions, answers and sources for this pathway.

Official link

What exact activity, role or purpose qualifies?

The visa is issued or extended for artistic performing groups and individuals of similar status, on the basis of an authorisation granted by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

See recorded sources

What organisation, institution, religious body, charity, teacher or host must support the activity?

The activity must be authorised by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and the application must be submitted by a guarantor or an authorised person. The national portal lists an official letter from the guarantor and a copy of the guarantor's commercial register among the required attachments.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • Neither page states which kinds of entity may act as guarantor beyond holding a commercial register.
  • The national portal also lists an eService named “Visa Issuance Request without Guarantor” without stating when a guarantor is not required.

What proves the placement, role, affiliation, experience or cultural/religious/voluntary activity?

The activity is proved by a permission from the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, filed with the service application form, a clear copy of the applicant's passport valid for more than 6 months and a copy of the applicant's or legal representative's ID card. An extension requires a permission from the same authority to extend.

Can the person receive salary, pocket money, accommodation, meals or reimbursement? Can they undertake other work?

Subtype: CULTURAL. The artistic performing-group visa depends on Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) permission, and BTEA requires a contract between the establishment and artist to establish the approved engagement and venue. The reviewed official pages do not state whether contractual performance fees, salary, accommodation, meals or reimbursement are permitted. The NPRA visa page contains a prohibition on paid or unpaid employment, but its own sentence begins “Upon issuance of the residency permit”; the reviewed pages do not establish that it prohibits the BTEA-authorised performance under the artistic visa or define the boundary with other work. BTEA authorisation for the agreed engagement does not itself demonstrate permission for unrelated employment.

Limits of the record
  • Performance remuneration and benefits are unstated in the reviewed NPRA/BTEA pages. Application of the residence-permit-prefaced employment prohibition to the artistic visa alone is unresolved; unrelated-work authorisation is not established by the artist permission.

How long can they stay, can they change host/activity, can family accompany, and can the status be extended?

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority artist permission on which the visa depends allows a maximum stay of 3 months. The visa can be extended: an extension requires a fresh permission to extend from the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority. The official source does not state whether the holder may change host or activity, or whether family may accompany the holder.

Limits of the record
  • The length of stay granted is not stated on either page.
  • Neither page states whether the holder may change host or activity.
  • Neither page states whether family may accompany the holder.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
