The 2025 checklist requires a notarised share register to verify the 40% shareholding at the time of application, and at a second or later shareholder application the required investment amount must be demonstrated to the satisfaction of the country of Aruba. What status is obtained, how is it renewed, what longer-term residence/citizenship direction is officially stated, and what happens to the investment when relevant?

The status obtained is a temporary residence permit (vergunning tot tijdelijk verblijf) for investor/shareholder, generally issued for one year but possibly for up to five years as a multi-year permit. Renewal is by a new application, which the 2023 handbook recommends filing at least three months before expiry. After ten years (120 months) of principal residence in Aruba a person may qualify for a permanent residence permit under certain conditions, a general rule not specific to shareholders. No citizenship direction or treatment of the investment on exit is stated.
