What exact status does accumulated residence lead to?

This is not a permit that is applied for and granted, but admission by operation of law (toelating van rechtswege) under article 3 LTU. The law itself admits people who have been in the service of Aruba, or who before 1 January 1986 were in the service of the Netherlands Antilles or of the island territory of Aruba, and who on that basis draw a pension or a pension-type benefit, as well as the non-remarried widows of such persons.

    1.4.1 TOELATING VAN RECHTSWEGE KRACHTENS DE LTU De volgende personen krijgen toelating van rechtswege: a. Personen die in overheidsdienst zijn dan wel in dienst van een van de landen van het Koninkrijk of een internationale organisatie en in Aruba zijn gestationeerd. What other major conditions apply, how is the status obtained, and what renewal, document-validity, retention or loss rules matter?

The status is obtained by operation of law for persons who were in service of Aruba or before 1 January 1986 in service of the Netherlands Antilles or the island territory of Aruba and receive pension or pension-like benefit, and for non-remarried widows of such persons. For a first application, renewal or change, general requirements apply: a copy of the biographical page of the applicant's valid passport and one recent colour passport photo (35 mm x 45 mm, JPEG). For this category, the applicant must also provide proof of former service with the Country of Aruba or, before 1 January 1986, with the Netherlands Antilles or the island territory of Aruba, and that they receive a pension or pension-like benefit from that service; for a non-remarried widow, proof that she is entitled to or receives such a pension benefit. DIMAS may always request additional documentation. The official source does not state renewal, document validity, retention or loss rules for the underlying status.
