Which nationalities and age range can participate?

Eligible nationals are citizens of Germany, Armenia, Australia, Austria, South Korea, Slovakia, Slovenia, Denmark, Spain, France, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Sweden. The standard range is 18–30 inclusive; France, Hungary, Ireland and New Zealand use 18–35 inclusive, and South Korea uses 18–34 inclusive.

What combination of travel, work, study or training does the programme permit?

The visa permits a 12-month holiday in Argentina with multiple entry and exit and incidental work to help fund travel. Many country agreements also expressly permit training or educational courses, but the activity wording varies between the nationality-specific agreement pages.

What are the defining limitations: quota, ballot, previous participation, employer limits, study limits or equivalent?

The programme is nationality-specific and generally cannot be used by someone who participated previously. Annual quotas vary: Germany and Sweden are unlimited; Australia 3,400; France 1,200 through 2027; New Zealand 1,000; Slovenia 900; Spain 500; Poland 400; Norway 300; Austria, Hungary, Ireland, Japan and South Korea 200; Denmark 150; Netherlands, Portugal and Slovakia 100. The official Armenia page does not state a quota. The official sources do not state employer or study limits.

What funds, insurance, onward travel or similar preparation is particularly important?

Applicants must show sufficient funds for the initial stay, a return booking or funds to buy one, and health and accident insurance covering hospitalisation and repatriation for the 12-month stay. Exact monetary evidence varies by nationality: the Portugal page specifies EUR 2,500 in own bank or card statements and medical/accident cover of at least EUR 30,000; other agreement pages may use another currency.

How long can the person stay, can the programme be extended or repeated, and what happens when it ends?

The visa permits a stay of 12 months and is not extendable. Previous participation is generally barred, so the programme cannot ordinarily be repeated. When the 12-month period ends, this visa no longer authorises continued stay.
