Is this for a founder, startup entrepreneur, self-employed person, freelancer, company owner or another business profile?

D.4 is Andorra's residence for participants in entrepreneur programmes. It authorises the holder to reside in the country while the authorisation is valid. It is for a newly arrived person whose work does not require a specific geographic location, who uses telecommunications and technology and the tools chosen to take part in the foreign entrepreneurs programme promoted by the ministry responsible for the economy.

The substance test is participation in the government programme rather than a company or business plan. The applicant must have obtained a favourable decision from the ministry responsible for the economy recognising them as a person whose work does not require a specific geographic location and who uses telecommunications and technology, in accordance with the implementing regulation. They must also fit within the quota set by regulation and establish main and effective residence in Andorra for at least 90 days per calendar year.

No investment amount or capital threshold is published for D.4. The applicant must prove sufficient economic means, in accordance with the requirements set by regulation, allowing them and the dependants of the applicant or of their spouse or stable partner to live in Andorra for the whole period of the residence, and must hold sickness and incapacity insurance valid for Andorra on the same basis, except for minors and people over sixty, who need sickness cover only.

It is for a newly arrived person whose work does not require a specific geographical location and who uses telecommunications and technology to take part in the programme for foreign entrepreneurs promoted by the ministry responsible for the economy; the applicant needs a favourable decision from that ministry. The holder must keep main and effective residence in Andorra for at least 90 days per calendar year. On family, the applicant must show sufficient economic means, in accordance with the requirements set by regulation, allowing the applicant and the people in their charge or in the charge of their spouse or stable partner to reside in Andorra for the whole validity of the residence, and the applicant and the people on whose behalf residence is requested must sign a commitment to that residence and to keeping the insurance contract in force. What approval/application sequence applies, how long is the status granted, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction is officially stated?

The initial residence authorisation is granted for an initial period of one year, renewable for successive periods of the same duration. After the authorisation is granted the holder must register with the comu of the parish where they live within one month and prove that registration within the same period. The official source does not state a longer-term residence direction.
