What launched, exactly

Two routes, 5+5 structure, sponsorship rights for family and domestic staff, asset ownership. Processing reported at 4–8 weeks; portal rollout ongoing.

The Executive route: read the small print

Not a "golden visa for executives". Three filters knock most people out: you must already hold a QID; your salary must clear the band; and your employer must be on the restricted category list. A director at an unlisted private company does not qualify regardless of salary.

The Entrepreneur route: the real opening

The incubator endorsement is the gate — QDB, QSTP, QFTH, QBIC, Scale7. Strategy: approach the incubator first, residency second. The QAR 36,500 bank evidence must cover the trailing 3 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply for Qatar's Executive residency from abroad?

No — it requires an existing QID and current employment at a restricted-category employer in Qatar.

How much money does the Entrepreneur route require?

Roughly QAR 36,500 (~USD 10,000) evidenced in a bank account over the previous 3 months, plus incubator endorsement.

Can my family join?

Yes — both routes allow sponsoring family members and domestic staff.

How does it compare with the UAE Golden Visa?

UAE routes are capital- or salary-based without incubator gatekeeping; Qatar's Entrepreneur route trades capital for validation.
